giving and getting advice
Someone asked me who I go to for advice
my answer was this: I usually don't need advice but when I
do
I ask people who know what they're talking about
I'm specific with my questions
I ask people who have something i want
or are doing something I aspire to achieve
I personally don't take advice from people who are STILL
learning
WHY?? Because I refuse to become their guinea pigs
I refuse to allow others to implant seeds out helplessness
in me
know the difference between ideas/ suggestions vs advice/
opinions
if I want to build a business
I'm gonna ask someone who has done it already
NOT someone trying simple as that
all that we can learn together stuff is OK in rare occasions
yes there's some things you'll have to learn on your own
but be weary of those still making mistakes being too
helpful
Before you ask for support learn how to support
before you ask for help learn how to be of assistance to
others
before you declare you need a friend be a real friend
sometimes people will have no use for others
and yet most folks already know how to use others
don't take peoples word for it there are bootleg ways to do
things
if that's what you are trying to achieve go for it
but don't
look confused when you're not being taken seriously .... nuff said

#DeathCoast by Dashaun Jiwe Morris Got a Review of 5 Mics by Unmuted Ink
at the AMC theatre in Jersey Gardens Elizabeth, NJ
on March 6th 2014
This artist/ actor/director did it!!!
I went to the #DeathCoast premiere and I walked away with all kinds
of emotions.
Regardless of whom you are; man, woman or child, you’ll get
something positive from it….
Without giving the movie away I will say this….
I LOVED the fact that he cast regular round tha way type females
in it,
although you knew about it, he didn’t glorify drugs, hustling or
money.
Dependent upon whatever angle you were looking at it from;
You’d still walk away with a renewed sense of hope for change.
…Realizing that the power is within all of us to WANT it….
one phone call started it and one phone call ended it.
He masterfully showed parents WHY it can happen,
he blatantly showed gang members HOW these things could happen
and then went further to show the audience a simple METHOD
despite pain and ego how it could be toned down or stopped.
All of the emotions were there from love, frustration, confusion,
loyalty,
revenge, consciousness, advice, conflict resolution etc.
This was not in the least about glorifying the lifestyle of gang
members;
the fact of the matter is this: he carefully depicted where he was
in his past,
with a petition to those who can make a difference to look in the
mirror
and if you don’t like what you see;
then do your part as a member of your own community to make it
better…
Dashaun Jiwe Morris is
someone you need to keep your eye on
as not an up and coming but rather, someone who is not going to stop
here and just go away,
He is someone who is going to keep it very real…
I see great things for this young man’s future which also inspires
others in similar situations
to do what you have to do but also look for better ways to handle
situations as essential life skills.
To Sum it up, this isn’t just a movie…
this is a documentary, this is an every hood USA biography
that needs to be in EVERY ONES library catalog.
You literally could not tell this was a low budget non backed movie
and I kept thinking…. DAMMN Imagine if it were WOW!!
DVD now available. THIS IS A MUST HAVE!

& Kelligraphy Pens on Tuesday March 4th 2014 Featuring Brick Citys
own Dashaun Jiwe Morris His movie Death Coast is premiering Thursday.
FOLLOW HIM!! twitter/I.g @JiweX7
Dashaun “Jiwe” Morris is from Newark, New Jersey. At the age of
thirty two, sits atop the totem pole of street politics in his city. His
is a story as unique as it is universal.
Coming from a troubled home, a
young Jiwe was recruited to join the Bloods before he was even twelve
years old. By the time he was eleven, Jiwe had already participated in
his first drive by shooting. Perhaps it was his talent for football that
contributed to saving his life.
A star athlete in high school, Jiwe was
recruited to attend Delaware State University on a full athletic
scholarship. But while he continued to excel on the field, his
involvement with the Bloods would ultimately take a turn for the worse
as Jiwe proceeded largely unabated down a path that would subsequently
lead to his indictment for attempted murder.
Incarcerated and faced with
the prospect of raising his daughter from behind bars, Jiwe began to
look deep within himself for answers that would explain his predicament.
What began as a soul searching exercise would later turn into a
gripping account of street life through the eyes of a full blown gang
banger. In April of 2008 Jiwe’s first book, War Of The Bloods In My
Veins, was published by Scribner, a division of famed publishing house
Simon & Schuster.
Today Jiwe is a free man and uses his influence
and credibility in the streets to uplift at-risk youth across America.
Traveling to high schools, colleges and juvenile detention facilities,
the man who once embraced a lifestyle that promoted violence now spends
his time urging adolescents to fight poverty through education and earn
for bigger and greater rewards outside the confines of dilapidated
neighborhoods and broken homes
